Stop-out

When the broker closes your trades automatically because your margin level fell too low.

A common stop-out level is 50%, but brokers differ. With $400 of used margin, a 50% stop-out happens when equity falls to $200. On a $1,000 account that is an $800 loss. The close happens at the current price, which can be worse in a fast market.
